Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly attempting to get into politics so she can fight in the name of LGBTQ issues.
Ever since Trump announced he was rolling back the protections President Obama put in place for transgender students across the country, Jenner has been vocal about her disappointment in the president.
“We have such issues in our community,” she said. “The murder rate right now for trans people- we have had nine since the beginning of the year.”
Jenner pointed out that these murders were typically trans women of color, and that the suicide rate for transgender kids was “out of control.”
“41 percent of trans people attempt suicide before the age of 21, I don’t want to be responsible for people going through this… Because when you transition it’s not just you. It’s your entire family, it’s every loved one you have. It is a huge, major, major decision in your life.”
That being said, the reality star told the BBC that Trump’s actions don’t make her regret her vote, “yet,” which sort of defeats the purpose of everything she said prior, and even her desire to fight him on his legislation. And if she’s not even ready to look deep within herself, and examine how her own behavior contributes to the culture Trump and his cronies are perpetuating, how can we trust she will have everyone’s best interests at heart? She certainly didn’t when it came time to vote for Trump, and she can’t even say it was a mistake.
How about we just stop talking, Caitlyn.
