Emmanuel Macron Wins French Presidential Election Against Anti-LGBTQ Opponent

Pink News has reported that Emmanuel Macron is projected to win the presidential French election against far-right leader Marine Le Pen. When all is said and done, Macron will have taken 65.5% of the vote to Le Pen’s dismal 34.5. Voter turn out was recorded at 65.3% by 5 p.m. just an hour before the polls closed.

Macro is a huge supporter of the LGBTQ community, going as far to dedicate a large part of his manifesto to absolving problems faced by the community at large, and working towards ending everyday discrimination and homophobia. He will be the youngest president to ever be elected in France. That’s a stark contrast when compared to his opponent, who promised to abolish marriage equality and to restrict services that aid same sex couples, such as fertility services.

Macron on the other hand has promised to open up IVF and fertility treatments to both single women and those in same sex relationships, and also appeared topless on a gay magazine.

Now how’s that for being an ally?
