The Williamsburg Hotel Brooklyn

The Williamsburg Hotel Brooklyn

I’m leaning against a pay phone at LGA and I’m scrolling through Hotel Tonight. It tells me the textile conference this weekend in New York and rates are above $400. So I switch my search to Brooklyn and I found my deal. One room left at The Williamsburg Hotel for about $200. It’s more than I wanted to spend but the pictures and the reviews were convincing enough. To be fair, I had no other choice. Thank the gods for Hotel Tonight.

“We’re here”, my Uber driver says. I look up from Grindr and out the window. It’s hot in Brooklyn so I was pleasantly satisfied when the cutest door man Patrick swings open the door and blasts me with probably the best air conditioning of my life- revealing the most spacious outstanding lobby I’ve ever seen.

The lobby is heaven in Brooklyn. Full bar, restaurant, huge seating area in the lobby (for client meetings or for working on my laptop) and they have a super fast wifi connection. Amazing outdoor seating space and nice neighborhood.

Hotel Tonight has good taste. From what I understand, they hand pick a select few hotels that meet their standards and they negotiate hard to fill every room. They also have a loyalty program, so if you use it often you’ll rank Level 4 like me, and you get access to even deeper discounts.

The Williamsburg Hotel beds are clouds. The staff are in a good mood. The views are amazing  and the lobby makes working remotely easy and comfortable for business travelers. You’ll also find millennial pink robes, warm incandescent-style lighting, clawfoot tubs and rain showers. Ask beforehand and they’ll accomodate. I opted for bathtub on my last night and it was divine.

I’m sitting in the lobby of this amazing hotel, the wifi is v v fast and I’ve got this entire 10-person couch to myself, Ariel Pink is on repeat and I’m throwing down a cold one (glass of water) and for some reason this place is booked solid but never crowded. I love it.
