The independent daily newspaper, Novaya Gazeta, reports that up to 100 men suspected of being gay have been seized in Chechnya . The newspaper claims the men have been tortured and even killed by their captors.
The Chechen government won’t recognize that gay men even exist in Chechnya, let alone take responsibility for the allegations.
These horrendous claims are a violation of basic human rights, let’s not be silent and put a stop to abducting and killing gay men in Chechnya
Here are a couple of things you can do:
A Change.org petition calls upon the Prosecutor General of Russia to investigate the attacks immediately. It now has 160,710 supporters. Support Russian activist Igor Yasin petition by signing HERE
You can also sign this Amnesty International UK petition HERE, so the Russian and Chechen authorities investigate these abductions and bring those responsible to justice.
