The 10 best nude beaches around the world

Take a trip around the world in your birthday suit. Here are the 10 best clothing optional beaches around the world to soak up the sun.

The dog days of Summer are upon us, and that means it’s time to hit the beach before Fall arrives. What better way to do that then flaunt those cheeks? And if you can kill two birds with one stone and do some traveling and sightseeing, why not?

Here are the best 10 nude beaches around the world.

1. Orient Beach

This clothing-optional beach is one of the most popular in the Caribbean, as well as one of the most beautiful. There’s plenty of nude sunbathers scattered around to add to the gorgeous views and tropical sands. Bonus: There are plenty of bars to grab a drink and take a break from the sun such as The Kontiki, Bikini and Kakao.

2. Haulover Beach

The only nude beach throughout the entire state of Florida is located at the northern end of the naturist area, in close proximity to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami. Referred to as “America’s Best Nude Beach,” as many as 7,000 people visit in one day, making this beach one of the best choices for a naked getaway. There’s plenty of hotels in the area to choose from, as well as picnic facilities and sand dunes.

3. Masaplomas, Gran Canaria

Europe’s Nudist Capital” is also very gay friendly, with a special section of the beach reserved for people who identify as LGBTQ, located right by the Pride Flag. During the month of the May there’s a huge, exuberant Pride festival, spotlighting the beach’s focus on inclusion and acceptance.

4. Playa De Las Balmins

Though not exclusively a gay beach, this is a wonderful place for people of all kinds of backgrounds to come together and enjoy the sun, clothed or not. Very gay friendly, and a popular alternative to Stigas’ other popular gay beach with a optional clothing rule, Playa De la Bassa Rodona.

5. Baker Beach

The perfect choice for those looking to soak up the sun without melting in the heat. Located right near the iconic Golden Gate bridge (photo op anyone?) there’s also good sight seeing opportunities, including the infamous Castro Street. If you plan on going in your birthday suit, make sure you bring a beach blanket, as the area is known for cooler temperatures than your average beach.

6. Black Beach

Another option for those in proximity to, or who have a desire to see, San Francisco. This is described as the most-friendly gay beach in America. Bonus Points: Dolphins are said to flock to the area, so why not freshen up your Instagram feed with a Dolphin selfie?

7. Hippie Hollow

Texas’ only nude beach isn’t found on a coast like the others on this list, but rather in the heart of Austin and manages to attract thousands during the spring and summer. Renowned for its beauty and clothing is optional mentality, there’s plenty of room to throw off your speedos and sprawl out to even out those tan lines. But make sure you bring shoes to make the walk from the car to the shore, as well as a beach blanket.

8. Little Beach

Though this Hawaiin nude beach attracts an assortment of different people, there’s a popular gathering place for members of the LGBTQ community located to the far side of the beach. There’s many different places to admire the beautiful view of the ocean, as well as places to snorkel and an assortment of Fire Dancers who get together every Sunday and showcase their skills.

9. Lady Bay Beach

Considered one of the best beaches in the land down under for its gay friendly surroundings and accommodation for people of all backgrounds. The beach actually got its start as an unofficial nude beach before it was officially declared as one in 1976. Since then, it’s become one of the most popular attractions in all of Sydney.

10. St. Laurent-Eze

We’d be remiss to do a listicle of nude beaches and not mention the French. This isolated beach is perfect for nude sunbathers, though make sure you bring all the essentials to keep you hydrated and satiated during your stay. The actual beach ranges from pebbles to large rocks, which is nice for those who find sand pesky (but make sure you bring a pair of shoes to find your place).
