The 5 best, and gayest, ski weeks to attend this year

The holidays are officially over, 2020 is here which means… it’s time to ski! But where? With plenty of options to choose from, we’re here to help.

It’s officially 2020! Have you started planning which gay ski week you’re attending this year? If not, that’s not necessarily a problem. With so many options to choose from, we’re here to help you select the best of the best.

1.) Whistler Pride & Ski Festival

Where: Vancouver, Canada

When: January 26 – February February 2

What has been deemed “the biggest Canadian gay ski week” wasn’t always so; back in 1992, Whistler started out as a small gathering of gay ski enthusiasts. It has since grown to be one of the largest gay ski weeks in the world.

This year’s event is shaping up to be one of the best ever, with a week jam-packed with Canadian culture, winter-sport and entertainment, including a welcome party presented by the Scandanavian Spa, a Comedy Night (with drinks!) hosted by comedian Nicole Beyer, a CABN cabaret featuring Lady Bunny and a game night of Cards Against Humanity hosted by Ryan Steele. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. In terms of lodging, there’s a pretty convenient hotel package you can book with the Aava Whistler Hotel that puts you just steps away from the welcome center, so you can be where all of the action is.

2.) Arosa Gay Ski Week

Where: Swiss Alps, Switzerland

When: January 18 – 25

The Swiss Alps. Need we say more?

If that’s not enough to get your mind racing, “Europe’s favorite Gay Ski Week” has plenty to justify a trip. There’s tons of parties, from Welcome Cocktails, to the White Snowball Party, foam party, fondue night, a classic piano concert and even a drag queen ski race. When we say there’s something for everyone, we mean it. Oh yeah, did we mention the hot Swiss men? Must have slipped our minds 😏.

There’s plenty of lodging accommodations too. From apartments, to chalets and of course 5-star options if you’re in the mood to splurge, you’re bound to find something within your price point.

3.) European Snow Pride

When: March 14 – 21

The biggest winter sports festival in all of Europe attracts hundreds of gay men annually from all across the continent, and beyond.

You want parties? They’ve got them, hosted by Europe’s best gay DJ’s and clubs. Hot tubs? Check. In fact, there’s actually an entire aquatic and spa center, so make sure you add that to your to do list. Pool parties? Yup. And of course, ski’ing! There’s more than 40 events throughout the week accessible to you by way of your event pass, so be sure to make time for all of them. As for accommodations, there’s plenty of promotions and special offers happening at the moment to help you make your choice, so act now! Not later. You don’t want to be left out of all the fun.

4.) Elevation Mammoth Gay Ski Week

When: March 18 – 22

Where: California, United States

“2,500 riders. 12 major parties. 0 attitude.”

The 18th annual Elevation Mammoth Gay Ski Week is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

There’s plenty of lodging accommodations ranging from luxury condos to more financially feasible options, and everything in between. You can peruse through the many options on the event’s official website.

5.) Snowgay Weekend
