Well you know what they say, it’s never too early too look ahead. What better way to ring in the new year than a gay ski week?

Halloween is right around the corner, and Thanksgiving and Christmas are sure to come just as quickly. Which brings us to our main point, it’s time to get a head jump on New Year’s Plans. And what better way to ring in the new year than with an escape to a winter wonderland?

These things tend to fill up fast, but where to start? Not to worry, we’ve got you covered.

1. Arosa Gay Ski Week

When: January 18 – 25, 2020

Where: Arosa, Switzerland

More than 130 miles of slope, daily events, concerts, themed dinners, ski cocktails, pool parties and disco nights… what more could you ask for? This is regarded as one of the biggest gay winter events in Europe for a reason!

2. Stowe Gay Ski Week

When: January 22 – 26, 2020

Where: Stowe, Vermont

For those who can’t leave the States on an international adventure, perhaps this is more your speed. This is the longest-running gay ski week in the Northeast, with 40 miles of powdery terrain. But aside from the slopes, there’s plenty of other activities to keep you occupied: karaoke, pool parties, cocktail bonfires and a blowout party. What are you waiting for?

3. Utah Gay Ski Week

When: February 26 – March 1, 2020

Where: Park City, Utah

Need a bit more time to hammer out the details of your potential getaway? This might be the ski week for you! Taking place at the end of February, this is the third largest gay ski week in North America. There’s plenty of accommodation options, whether you’re on a budget or you’re looking to throw down on a luxury condo. So grab your skis and get ready for a weekend full of fun, slopes and plenty of cute guys!

4. European Gay Ski Week

When: March 21 – 28, 2020

Where: Les Trois Vallées, France

Bonjour! Another late option for those of us who may not be early birds, and one of the most exciting. With more than 190 miles of trails, it’s safe to say you won’t run out of ski paths. And when all is said and done and it’s time to hang up the skis, there’s plenty of time to party. Drag queens, magicians and cabaret stars, oh my!

5. Snowgay Weekend

When: March 5 – 8, 2020

Where: Boí Taüll, Spain

For those searching for something more international… look no further! Boí Taüll’s LGBTQ community comes together to celebrate with plenty of activities in one of the most beautiful places in the world.

6. Telluride Gay Ski Week

When: February 22 – 29, 2020

Where: Telluride, Colorado

Far far up in the San Juan mountains, you’ll find a bunch of gays dancing the night away, drinking cocktails and (maybe) doing a bit of skiing as well. If you’re lucky you might even spot a special guest; Gus Kenworthy is a past attendee of this specific event!

7. Swing: Switzerland Gay Ski Week

When: March 8 – 15, 2020

Where: Lenzerheide/Valbella, Switzerland

There’s plenty of skiing opportunities, but good news for those looking to something other than ski! Take a hike, grab a toboggan or your snow shoes. Or are you the type to spend your time indoors? Not to worry, you’ve got the sauna to hide out in, or if you’re feeling social there’s plenty of movie nights and fondue parties.

8. Aspen Gay Ski Week

When: January 12 – 19, 2020

We saved the best for last: the first, and most famous, gay ski week in the United States has absolutely everything and anything you could be looking to get out of a ski week: cocktails, movie screenings, parties, parades and nice hot tubs to soothe your body after a day full of skiing (amongst other things).

Don’t know where to get started? Not to worry, there’s a guide for that!
